Graeme Warnell has been active within the petroleum industry for over 27 years working alongside Mobil Oil, BP and Shell including a number of Global Joint Ventures with Aecom and Lendlease. His career has covered a wide range of roles from FM Management to Environmental Incident Management. Since 2014 Graeme runs an environmental consultancy business which operates in the UK, Europe and Africa. The main aim of his company is to advise and support organisations develop a proactive and environmentally friendly approach to the prevention and treatment of hydrocarbon contamination.
Graeme lives in Krakow Poland and is married with 3 daughters however he retains strong ties with the UK. He has close associations with Great Ormond Street Hospital and is always active supporting any new fund raising and research campaigns GOSH has.
Impunity or Action? - The Niger Delta 60 years on
In 1956 oil was discovered in Nigeria, like many other areas of the world the extraction process was messy, spills, leaks and deaths were common. Today the world oil producers have endeavoured to clean up their Global Environmental act and thankfully major pollution events are few and far between, however we must ask ourselves – why not Nigeria and how long can we ignore with impunity the state of the Delta?
